About Department
The courses of Bachelor of Computer Application (BCA) & PGDCA are being offered in the institution under a self-financing scheme and regulated through the Higher Education Institute Society regd.Under Cooperative Society Act 2006. The duration of the BCA degree course is three years spread over six semesters and is affiliated with Himachal Pradesh University Shimla. The duration of the PGDCA degree course is one year spread over two semesters and is affiliated with Himachal Pradesh University Shimla.
Objectives
The Department of Computer Science (BCA & PGDCA) at the Govt. College Ghumarwin H.P. promotes innovation-centric education and performs cutting-edge projects. The basic objective of starting this course is to impart quality education in computer science and Information Technology to the candidates admitted for the course to build their career in the I.T. & computer paradigm. The department continuously endeavors to create and sustain an academic environment conducive to the highest level of teaching. The goal is to develop human resources with sound knowledge of theoretical, systems, and application aspects of Computer Science. The department also facilitates the development of academia-industry collaborations and societal outreach activities.

Facilities Available
The Department has the most up-to-date computing equipment to support the research and teaching activities. The college has two Modern Computer Labs with Broadband facilities and a Smart Classroom concept has been introduced in this college with the latest technology and equipment. The Department of Computer Science has started using the latest teaching aids like LCD Multimedia Projector for effective and qualitative teaching having Broadband facilities. The Department has educated generations of students whose imagination, creativity and hard work made possible the unprecedented growth in digital technology.
