Programme Objectives and Learning Outcomes

Bachelor of Arts in Education or B.A. Education is a three year undergraduate degree programme where the learners are educated in domain of Education and its application. The core objective of this programme is to build right attitude and values among the students needed for teaching profession and in the perspective of local, national and global concerns. Programme will enhance professional competencies of the students and will enable them to acquaint with the skills needed for personal as well as social transformation through Education.

Programme Objectives :–

The following are the objectives of the programme;

  1. to equip the students with the basic knowledge and understanding of the subject.
  2. to motivate, inspire and develop interest of student in Education.
  3. to stimulate the students to see Education as a vital component for personal as well as social transformation.
  4. to develop broad and balanced knowledge and understanding of concept mentioned in the course.
  5. to develop the ability to think critically over theoretical orientations.
  6. to develop scientific temperament, humanitarian values and ethics in students.

 Programme Outcomes :–

This programme will;

  1. enable the students to apply acquired knowledge to advance the capacities in teaching, research and extension work in the field of Education.
  2. enable the students to apply knowledge and skills to deal with emerging issues of Educational field by applying critical, creative and constructive thought process.
  3. enable the students to connect knowledge in the real life situation.
  4. to bring development in the chosen field and progress towards an advance degree.

 Course Title :– Sociological Foundations of Education

Course Objectives :–

  1. To enable the students to develop understanding on the concept of Educational Sociology and Sociology of Education.
  2. understand relationship between Sociology and Education.
  3. know and understand sociological determinants of Education.
  4. acquire knowledge of concept of social change and about the role of school and teacher in the social change.

To enable the students to;

  1. Gain knowledge of Education system during ancient and medieval India.
  2. Acquaint with the British influence on Indian Education system.
  3. Understand significant points of selected Educational documents and reports of British period.
  4. Develop understanding on the growth and development of Indian Education in post-independence period.
  5. Acquire adequate knowledge of recommendation of various commissions of Indian Education.
  6. Understand and gain knowledge about Education system in modern India.

  1. Demonstrate aims, characteristics and salient features of Vedic, Buddhist and Islamic Education system.

  4. Interpret development of Indian Education during post-independence period.
  5. Explain recommendations of University Education Commission, Secondary Education Commission and Kothari Education Commission.

Course Objectives :–

To enable the students to;

  1. Know and understand meaning, definitions and characteristics of Yoga.
  2. Develop understanding on needs and objectives of Yoga.
  3. Understand contribution of Yoga in human development.
  4. Acquire knowledge of meaning and significance of Bhakti Yoga, Gyan Yoga and Karma Yoga.
  5. Gain knowledge of Ashtanga Yoga of Patanjali.
  6. Acquire knowledge and understanding of different aspects of Yoga.
  7. Understand how Yoga contribute for bringing peace and harmony.

 Course Outcomes :–

After going through the course students will be able to;

  1. Comprehend meaning, definition and characteristics of Yoga.
  2. Explain needs and objectives of Yoga.
  3. Analyse significance of Yoga in human development.
  4. Demonstrate Bhakti Yoga, Gyan Yoga and Karma Yoga with their significance.

Course Objectives :–

To enable the students to :

  1. Develop understanding of concept, definition and components of life skills.
  2. Gain knowledge of different types of life skills.
  3. Understand role of life skills in health promotion.
  4. Acquire knowledge and understanding of importance of life skill Education.
  5. Acquire knowledge regarding areas of application of life skills.
  6. Develop systematic understanding of methods for developing life skills and teacher’s role in promoting life skills.
  7. Know, understand and acquire knowledge of different techniques useful for developing life skills.

  3. Generate awareness and augment their understanding in terms of various teaching methods.

  4. Develop understanding and knowledge of techniques and aids for the Education of CWSN.
  5. Acquire adequate knowledge of policies and programmes in relation to Inclusive Education.
  6. Develop understanding over role of family and community in nurturance of CWSN.
